Sausageburgers

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of Pender's Sausage (Mild or Hot)
  • 3 tablespoons of water
  • 2 large tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 8 hamburger buns

Preparation

  1. Remove casing from sausage and shape sausage into 8 patties.  Patties should be 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and 3 to 4 inches in diameter. 
  2. Slice tomato to desired thickness
  3. Slice and separate onion into rings. 

Cook

  • Place patties into cold frying pan or on warm grill
  • If using frying pan add, water and place on low heat for approximately 5 minutes each side.  If using a grill,  cook patties over medium heat for approximately 3 minutes each side. Make sure patties are cooked thoroughly until well done.  Cooking times will vary. Do NOT consume raw meat. 

Serve

  • Remove patties from frying pan or grill.  Place on paper towel to rest for 2 minutes.
  • Warm, grill or toast hamburger buns if desired. 
  • Place your favorite condiments on buns and then place burger.
  • Enjoy! 

Pender's Pudding

How to Prepare and Cook

  • 1 pound of Pender's Pudding
  • 1 small white onion (finely chopped)


Remove casing from pudding and place in skillet on low to medium heat for approximately 10 minutes.  Stir pudding every few minutes to avoid crisping.  Mix the finely chopped onion into pudding around 7 to 8 minutes of cooking pudding and continue to stir.  You want the onion firm.  Once pudding is thoroughly cooked, remove from heat.  Serve hot with other breakfast favorites such as eggs, grits, and toast.
